What's Happening

Hello everyone…I’m back! It’s been a while since I last wrote in the
newsletter and I’ve missed you guys! I hope everyone is doing well and
staying cool out there from this summer heat. Your Gothic team has
been very busy over the last several months and I wanted to fill you in on
what we have accomplished and what we are working on moving into
September. There has been a new addition to the pool area planters
that I hope most of you have seen when cooling off this summer. Your
palm tree planter beds had new gravel and boulders installed which has
definitely helped enhance the appearance of these beds. Your parkway
trees throughout the community have had the wells cleaned up and new
bark installed. New annual color was installed around the main entry and
the Grove House. An additional irrigation tech was brought on by the
name of Vicente to help tackle the hot spots we have been seeing in the
turf. There has been great improvement!! If you see the guy with knee
pads and tool belt near a Gothic truck, don’t be shy, say hi and Vicente
will teach you something about the irrigation system. Weeding and
planter cultivation continues to be a main focus as well as the Gophers. I
am very proud to say that the gopher activity has been drastically
reduced but not gone. Our regular gopher service is scheduled for
Monday but if there is increased activity he will be out multiple times if
necessary at no additional charge.

So what are we working on moving forward? This coming month we will
be working on cleaning spent Gazania from the planter beds, Privet
hedges throughout the community are scheduled to be trimmed, Pear
Tree trimming is on the schedule, and we will be begin detailing the
Acacia on the slopes throughout the community. We have a few
enhancement projects we are working on in conjunction with your
landscape committee and board which include the Olive Trees towards
the bottom end of the entry, the slope directly across from the Grove
House parking lot, and the small islands on Rivertrail and Hidden Creek.
We are currently in design process for the slope across from the Grove
House and I will have an update for you next month on the progress.
Keep you eyes out the next couple weeks for some the new additions to
the small Islands.

I just want to remind everyone about the service request log that is
posted up at the bulletin boards at the Grove House. It is updated twice a
month so feel free to come by and check the status of your request. If I
haven’t caught you in person in regards to your request, I have likely left
you one of our door hangers letting you know what is happening. Last
but not least, I haven’t forgotten….the 3rd Annual Summer BBQ is being
scheduled and I look forward to seeing everyone out there. The date will
be announced soon.
.

A Helpful Tip!
Watering in the early morning hours before sunrise will help lessen water lost to
evaporation and daytime winds.
